Director/Producer

Del Shores has worked for thirty years as a writer, director and producer in film, television and theatre.  Recently, he has taken to the road and to the stage touring to over 160 venues with three standup comedy tours.  Emerson directed and produced the live DVD tapings for all three shows. Del Shores: My Sordid Life was filmed in Los Angeles.  Del Shores: Sordid Confessions and Del Shores: Naked. Sordid. Reality. were both filmed in Dallas at the Rose Room at S4.

Del Shores: My Sordid Life

Del Shores shares the real-life stories that have inspired his writing. Yes, there was a man with two wooden legs, but did his grandmother trip over them and die while having a sordid affair? Did his mother really ask, “What exactly do you do… when you’re gay?” (Sordid Lives)  Were prayers really answered and a matching vein found in a vein bank in Baton Rouge to replace his Uncle Humpty’s collapsed one? (Southern Baptist Sissies)  What relative really shot a policeman in the saliva gland and shoulder? (Trailer Trash Housewife)  What was his aunt’s reaction to seeing herself as the multi-married bar-singer Evalita in Daddy’s Dyin?  Truth and fiction are finally separated and the result is absolute, side-splitting hilarity!

Del Shores: Sordid Confessions

Whether he's recalling details of his "slut" years or calling out the a**holes and b*tches he's worked with, there is no subject off-limits. "Del says what most people think. He has no censor - on or offstage.  Audiences love him because of his ‘bless-their-hearts’ Texas charm," explains Caroline Rhea.  "I got off Paxil and I don't give a shit anymore," Shores warns.

Del Shores: Naked. Sordid. Reality.

Del shares more sordid stories about his Texas family, reads letters he's written to the haters (including Newt Gingrich and Kirk Cameron), acts out scenes from your favorite reality shows (including Hoarders and The Real Housewives of Orange County) and yes, he addresses his new, unexpected, single life.
